Illuminated & 3D Signage, Gold Coast
Signmakers Gold Coast fabricates illuminated and three-dimensional signage, including LED-lit letters, light boxes, back-lit panels and built-up logos, at its Burleigh Heads workshop.

Illuminated signage is the difference between a business that closes at dusk and one that keeps advertising until midnight. On a main road, a lit sign is doing its most valuable work at exactly the hour an unlit one disappears.
This is fabrication work, not printing. Built-up letters, returns, faces, diffusers and light boxes are made from metal, acrylic and composite in our own workshop, using our CNC machinery, spray booth and metal and aluminium fabrication equipment.
Three-dimensional signage without illumination does a related job in daylight — depth, shadow and a raised profile read as a considered building rather than a printed panel. We make both, and often combine them on the same frontage.

Illuminated & 3D Signs — questions
Are your illuminated signs made on the Gold Coast?
Yes. Fabrication happens in our own workshop at Burleigh Heads using our CNC machinery, spray booth and metal and aluminium fabrication equipment. We are not reselling imported light boxes.
What is the difference between back-lit, halo-lit and face-lit letters?
Face-lit letters push light out through the front face, which is the brightest and most legible at distance. Halo-lit letters throw light backwards onto the wall so the letter reads as a silhouette in a glow, which looks more restrained. Back-lit panels light a whole surface from behind. Which one suits you depends on the building, the viewing distance and the look you want, and we will talk it through before quoting.
Do illuminated signs need an electrician?
Illuminated signage needs a power supply and connection, and that has to be done to standard. We will cover how power gets to the sign as part of quoting the job.
Does an illuminated sign need council approval?
Illuminated signage more often requires approval than non-illuminated signage, and requirements vary by location and property. We can advise on your specific sign and assist with council applications, approvals and engineering specifications.
